Unearth a Story this Summer @ the Voorheesville Public Library
We’re planning a variety of summer activities for all ages, from babies to adults, in the library and out in the community. Check our online calendar for details and registration information.
Track Your Summer Reading!
This summer, the library will be partnering with our Assemblymember Gabriella Romero for the New York State Assembly’s 2026 Summer Reading Challenge! The challenge is for youth readers of all ages — preschoolers, children, and teens. The Summer Reading Challenge brochure has already been mailed directly to families and more copies will be available to pick up at the library starting June 26. It can also be downloaded from Assemblymember Romero’s website at Gabriella Romero Summer Reading Challenge 2026 .
Starting July 1 and ending on August 23, readers will mark the calendar in the brochure for each day they read for at least 15 minutes, independently or with a reading partner. Once 40 days have been checked off, the reader has completed the Summer Reading Challenge. Bring in your completed brochure to receive a commemorative 2026 grand prize from the Voorheesville Public Library. In addition, attend the End of Summer Bash with Gabriello Romero on August 24 to receive your New York Assembly Excellence in Reading certificate. Readers can also mail the Summer Reading Challenge brochure with its enclosed form to Assemblymember Romero’s office and the certificate will be mailed. Other library incentives and prizes will be offered. rk
Adult Library Book Group Meetings
Whether you pick up a copy of the discussion title or download an ebook or listen to an audiobook, you are invited to join fellow readers to enjoy lively in person discussions at the library. Thanks to the support of the Friends of the Library, book club copies are available for just $5.00 for our discussions, while supplies last. Please register for titles and times that appeal to you.
