This is an opportunity for parents and caregivers to bring their babies (newborn – 24 months) to a library program just for them. Everyone participates in a program that emphasizes sharing books, music, rhymes and playtime together. Older siblings are welcome, too, but the program is geared for babies.
Book Discussion
Please register and pick up a copy of the book. The library will be closed except for this program. Join us for an evening of book-related discussion, activities, and refreshments. Parents are welcome.

Dial-a-Ghost by Eva Ibbotson
This spooky adventure is an irresistible mixture of fantasy and magical high jinks. After spending most of his 10 years in a London orphanage, Oliver Smith is horrified to discover he is the owner of a grand old mansion. He soon finds himself ensconced in a spooky, creaky tower bedroom in Helton Hall, under the care of his two cruelly calculating cousins, who are next in line to inherit the family mansion if something should happen to Oliver.

Meet Duke!
Mrs. Brown is delighted to announce that her golden retriever Duke has passed theTherapy Dogs International® test and is now the official “Paws for Reading” dog for the library. Duke wants to help children feel good about reading. He loves to listen to books, especially dog books!
The “PAWS for Reading” program is intended for children in grades 1-5 who feel unsure about his/her reading progress or who just want to practice reading out loud for fluency. You may schedule a 15 minute appointment with Mrs. Brown and Duke beginning in September. Call the library at 765-2791 or e-mail Mrs. Brown at browng@uhls.lib.ny.us.
